While the COVID-19 pandemic forced many conference organisers to postpone and cancel events in 2021, others have successfully adopted digital platforms to move their events partially or fully online. Here are five major events happening in the Asia Pacific region that clinical lab leaders and other healthcare professionals may want to attend this year.

Precision Public Health Asia 2021 Conference (PPH Asia 2021)

7 – 9 April 2021 (online only)

A collaborative effort between the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore and the Government of Western Australia’s Department of Health, this virtual conference brings together policymakers, industry and other stakeholders to explore how genomics, AI and other new technologies can improve public health in Asia Pacific.

HIMSS21 APAC Health Conference + Exhibition

18 – 19 May 2021 (online + live event in Singapore)

The theme of this year’s annual HIMSS APAC Health Conference and Exhibition is ‘Future-Proof Healthcare: The Emergence of Asia”. This hybrid online-offline event is held in Singapore and features speakers from a range of healthcare industry segments, as well as non-traditional stakeholders like social media and insurance firms that will play an increasingly important role in healthcare delivery in the coming years.

Medlab Asia & Asia Health 2021

27 September – 19 November 2021 (online + live event in Bangkok, Thailand) 

A combination of trade show and educational conference, this event aims to bring together the laboratory and healthcare communities from the ASEAN region. This hybrid online-offline includes two months of virtual programming, as well as a three-day live event in Bangkok, Thailand on 20-22 Oct. The educational agenda provides an opportunity to earn CME/CMTE credits.

Asia Healthcare Week 2021

September 2021, Virtual (Dates to be announced) 

Although the agenda and format has yet to be released for this year’s summit, this event historically consists of a series of co-located conferences covering a range of healthcare-related topics (last year, the two main sub-themes were digital health and healthcare facilities management).

Brought to you by the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed), a regional trade association for the medical device and in-vitro diagnostics industry, this annual event explores the evolving role of medical technology in healthcare systems.
