On 11 Apr 2020, the Asia Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine (APACCM) co-hosted a webinar with Roche Diagnostics on the management of severe COVID-19 pneumonia. The webinar included presentations from two clinicians on the frontlines of the outbreak in China:

  • Dr Hu Bie Jie – Professor, Head of Department of Infectious Diseases and Hospital Infection Management, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai (China)
  • Dr Xie Li Xin – Professor and Head of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Medicine at People’s Liberation Army General Hospital, Beijing (China)

The event was moderated by Dr Ross Freebairn, President of the APACCM and a Consultant in the Intensive Care Services Unit at Hawke’s Bay Hospital in Hastings, New Zealand; as well as Dr Tan Chee Kiat, Head and Senior Consultant of Intensive Care Medicine at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital in Singapore.
