The World Health Organisation strongly encourages the use of digital technologies to support the cervical cancer elimination efforts that are underway in many countries around the world. At the 35th International Papillomavirus Conference (IPVC) in April 2023, Dr Luis Riba of Roche Diagnostics described how digital solutions can account for key challenges in cervical cancer care, including limited screening data, poor patient adherence, lack of standardisation, and wasted time and resources. He presented alongside Dr Belen Lloveras, Chief of the Pathology Department at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, Spain, which partnered with Roche to co-create a digital solution to support their cervical cancer testing and patient management needs.
