The Importance of Implementing Good Pre-analytical Processes in Laboratories
Saturday, 30th November 2019
02 PM – 03 pm (GMT +8)
Many laboratories struggle with poor staining quality and invalid results everyday; and they may not be aware of what went wrong in the laboratory processes or how to mitigate the issue.
Pre-analytical preparation is the first step in the specimen journey and it comprises of tissue collection, fixation, grossing of specimen, tissue processing, embedding and microtomy. It plays an important role in the success of tissue staining and pathology reporting. With optimally processed histology, pathologist is able to make a diagnosis accurately in a timely manner, and help the patient receive the right treatment promptly. Watch the recording to understand more!
Who should attend:
- Participants include Pathologists, Pathology lab directors, Histotechnologists, Pathology Residents/Trainees, Research Pathologists and Lab Scientists.
Key reason to attend:
- To understand Specimen handling, inclusive of handling of bone specimen, fixation, tissue processing, embedding and microtomy.

Maintaining Quality in Histopathology Laboratories
16 December 2020
11 am – 12.30 pm (GMT +8)
In this part 2 session, we will dive deep into the discussion of the histopathology laboratories entailing best practice standards to achieve quality IHC staining for pathology interpretation. For newly introduced biomarkers in a histopathology lab, assay validation or verification is required while for consistent optimal IHC staining and interpretation, quality checks are essential. How do we maintain quality in our labs?
