The newly updated ISO 15189:2022 standards strongly advocate that the medical laboratory implement risk management as a way to ensure quality in their total testing processes. Clinical labs now bear the responsibility of carrying out risk management for all activities that pose a risk to patients to ensure the best patient outcomes. This is how one hospital in Taiwan is working towards implementing the new guidelines, as told by their Director of Laboratory, Mr Kao Chih-Hsiung.
