Point-of-care diagnostics are now capable of providing “laboratory quality” molecular pathogen detection capabilities for the ED and outpatient settings. Successful deployment enables a significant reduction in unnecessary multiplex respiratory pathogen testing, resulting in cost savings and improvement in therapeutic turnaround time.
