Studi kohort Inggris dan Denmark menunjukkan bahwa pasien dengan kanker memiliki risiko 4\u201311 kali lebih tinggi terkena tromboemboli vena (TEV) dibandingkan dengan pasien non-kanker, tergantung pada jenis kanker; dengan TEV memengaruhi morbiditas dan mortalitas pada pasien kanker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Untuk mencegah TEV, pasien kanker berisiko tinggi yang mungkin mendapat manfaat dari tromboprofilaksis primer perlu diidentifikasi. Modul penilaian risiko (Risk assessment modules, RAM) seperti skor Khorana dapat memprediksi risiko TEV pada pasien. RAM dapat ditambah dengan penanda biologis untuk meningkatkan prediksi. RAM dapat diperbesar dengan penanda biologis untuk meningkatkan prediksi.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Cinzia Giaccherini kemudian membahas penanda biologis untuk prediksi CAT dan prognosis penyakit pada kanker paru-paru. Penanda biologis koagulasi seperti D-dimer tercatat berpotensi berguna dalam mengevaluasi risiko trombotik individu pasien. Terdapat bukti yang mendukung penggunaannya pada pasien kanker paru-paru, yang mana hal itu juga dapat menjadi indikasi prognosis yang buruk.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Beberapa penelitian melaporkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara peningkatan kadar plasma D-dimer dengan beban tumor besar, perkembangan penyakit, dan mortalitas Penelitian lebih lanjut diperlukan untuk memperkuat bukti saat ini dan untuk mendorong penggunaan model berbasis penanda biologis koagulasi di masa mendatang dalam praktik klinis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">Selama sesi Tanya Jawab, emboli paru tercatat sebagai yang paling umum di antara pasien kanker paru-paru, dengan diagnosis sering ditemukan saat skrining kanker. Terkait dengan pengobatan edoxaban pada TEV, direkomendasikan untuk melanjutkan pengobatan selama 12 bulan dengan dosis yang sama sebelum menyesuaikan jika TEV berlanjut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-align-justify\">D-dimer dicatat sebagai penanda TEV yang menjanjikan dan prediktor prognosis penyakit.
