Addressing the underdiagnosis of Hepatitis E in Vietnam with Dr Nguyen Nguyen Huyen

Hepatitis E (HEV) is a common disease in parts of Southeast Asia, although it’s rare in other regions. According to Dr Nguyen Nguyen Huyen, Head of Outpatient Examination and Treatment Department at Vietnam’s National Hospital for Tropical Disease (Kim Chung), HEV is often underdiagnosed in Vietnam due to limited public and government awareness. Dr Huyen advocates for greater understanding and attention to hepatitis E to improve diagnosis, treatment, and future prevention.
