In this recent webinar hosted by Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific, Assoc. Professor Svetlana Cherepanoff, a staff specialist anatomical pathologist at St Vincent’s Hospital in Australia with research interests in ocular pathology, shares her experience using digital pathology, NGS and digital collaboration tools for better and more accurate diagnosis.
Cherepanoff gives examples of how these technologies are aiding her work. She highlights the particular advantage of using digital pathology tools in large countries like Australia, where geographical constraints increase the need for remote assessment, second opinion consultation and training.
She also discusses the value of digital collaboration and clinical decision support tools for pulling together multiple reports and complex datasets with histological, molecular and clinical information, providing a case study from an Australian MDT focused on ocular oncology.
